What could possibly go wrong?

This has to be one of my favorite phrases these days. It sums up the sort of naive optimism in software development that, well, seldom ends well. When all the moving parts come together just in time for the launch date it’s pretty likely that there hasn’t been enough time to find out what could possibly go wrong.
I think the same principle applies to blogging. These days I do a lot of work as an independent consultant. It requires a certain amount of naive optimism on my part to believe that what I writeh here won’t come back to haunt me. I’d like to be able to say that I don’t want to work for narrow minded people but that’s a luxury unlikely to be available all the time.
